Led by Dr. Toby Sheely, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and seasoned equine veterinarian, our clinic is committed to providing personalized care that meets the unique needs of each horse. Dr. Sheely’s diverse background, from his military service to working with endangered Hawaiian Monk Seals, shapes the compassionate and professional approach he brings to veterinary medicine.
Dr. Sheely, along with his wife Susan, has made River Falls, Wisconsin, their home for the past 15 years, raising their two grown children and a variety of small animals. The family enjoys spending time outdoors, trail riding, backcountry camping, and traveling—activities that further enhance their understanding of the bond between horse and owner.

Meet Dr. Toby Sheely
Dr. Sheely’s journey began with six years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he learned discipline, leadership, and the importance of service. After transitioning from the military, he discovered his passion for veterinary medicine while studying in Hawaii, where he worked with critically endangered Hawaiian Monk Seals at the Waikiki Aquarium. This experience, coupled with his studies at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, sparked his dedication to animal care.
Since earning his degree in 2004, Dr. Sheely has spent over 20 years working at a prominent multi-vet equine referral center in the eastern Twin Cities area. His experience with complicated referral cases combined with a focus on ambulatory care has led to an expertise in advanced equine health care and performance evaluation.
